There are a few big things you need to know about Peachtree City Church of Christ. We believe the Bible is God's Word. That's it.
We don't belong to any denomination. No board or organization is over us. We don't answer to any one but God for our beliefs and practices. We believe God has revealed everything we need to know about how to be Christ's church in the Bible.
If you see other churches doing something that we don't, it's probably because we can't find Christians doing it in the Bible. That's important to us.
We want to be a place where people are built up, not beat up. We all need each other. None of us are perfect, not even close. But Jesus is. He is the head of the church, and the Bible teaches that the church is his body. EVERYONE is welcome to worship and study with us.
Our hope, while on Earth, is to grow the Kingdom of God as much as possible. We want to spread the hope we have in Jesus to all who have not heard. The hope we have comes from our faith in Jesus, and the belief in the love He has shown for us. Our mission is to live like Christ and share that faith, hope & love at every opportunity.
We believe in the sole authority of Scripture as God's inspired Word.
Our worship service is a cappella.
We believe that baptism is essential for salvation.
We take communion together weekly.
We hope to help you find ways to serve with the church and be served by the church. With various ministries & volunteer efforts, our church has plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.
After spending some time visiting with us, you might want to identify as part of our church body. We encourage you to meet with our shepherds, get on our contact list and further discuss your membership.
We worship together on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. Bible classes are held immediately after service concludes. We also study together on Wednesday nights at 7 PM. We look forward to hosting you!
In 1974, a group of Christians in the southern Atlanta area came together to begin a Church of Christ in Peachtree City, Georgia. They notified the city of their plan, and began meeting with elders & ministers at neighboring churches to let them know of their plan.
Because Peachtree City was so new, city officials installed a handout for new churches - something they knew the city needed. The first three churches to notify them of their plans to start a church would be given three acres of land each. Our church was the third to sign up.
The church initially met at City Hall. Soon, they began construction on their own building - where we still meet today. David Fincher, one of our first minsiters said this: "The early Peachtree City church was church in the very best sense of the word." Its legacy has poured into the amazing group of Christians who worship together now.
On any given Sunday, we worship together with 250-350 Christians. We are proud that this church has not only survived for 50 years, but continued to thrive. We look forward to many more years of worshipping at & serving the wonderful community of Peachtree City, Georgia.
– John 10:10
"I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
We would love to know about you and what you're looking for in a church. Allow us to invite you to worship with us so that we can have the pleasure of meeting you in person.
In the first century, after the first believers were baptized because of their faith in Jesus Christ, a new Christian movement began. The churches of Christ still try to follow this example. What was started in Acts 2:42-47, our churches still believe God desires for us today. Even though we are removed by about two thousand years, Ephesians 2:20 says our churches today are still built on the foundations of the apostles with Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.
