On Friday, September 19th, our Tweens launched their first fall gathering at the Commons at Peachtree City Church of Christ. The “Tweens,” christian ministry for elementary students aged 2nd – 5th grade creates space for both fun and faith-building! Everyone was excited to connect again, and to welcome in some of our new, younger students.

Starting the Evening with Games
We opened the night with high-energy minute-to-win-it challenges! Tweens played Bouncer, bouncing ping pong balls into targets, and Marshmallow Mover, blowing marshmallows from a starting line to a finish line using a straw. The students laughed and cheered with each other as their teammates fought for the win!
Pizza, Cookies, and Fellowship
Afterward, everyone shared dinner together. Pizza and cookies were served (although the kids were quick to notice the absence of grapes). Sitting together gave us time to enjoy each other’s company!
Devotional with David Barnett
Next, David Barnett led the group in a devotional. He encouraged the students to think about how Christians should respond in fearful moments. This was a valuable reminder for growing believers! Our church is thankful for this christian ministry for elementary students that gives our Tweens the tools to use their faith in practical moments.
Ending the Night with a Classic
Finally, we wrapped up with a Tween favorite: Spotlight (flashlight tag). It was the perfect way to end a night of both silliness and spiritual growth!
What’s Next for Tweens
The Tweens group hosts a few events throughout each semester. You can find dates and details through the Church Center app. As a visitor, you can also learn more about our christian ministry for elementary students through the church website.
Our next event is Trunk-or-Treat on October 25th. There will be a chili cook-off, games, costumes, and most importantly, candy collection. Sign up for community event details at the bottom of our home page. We hope to see you will join us!
