Our College and Young Professional group just got back from our FIRST EVER
Summer Retreat! The Peachtree City Church of Christ has a flourishing young adult group at our church. Our goal for this group is to help them exhibit the love Christ had for us both in words and actions in order to spread the gospel.

Building a Foundation of Faith
Entering a new chapter in life can create a ton of stress – and as we can all relate, it’s easy to get blown off track in our faith. One of our primary focuses as a college & young professionals ministry is to establish a solid faith foundation. This includes both biblical knowledge and creating relationships
with like-minded Christians who can encourage one another as they continue their
Christian walk. Having a support system is a huge help when life throws
trials your way!
Our Theme: Standing Firm in Hope
All of these things inspired the vision behind our first retreat. The theme verse was 1 Peter 3: 14-16,
“But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. And do not
be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. But sanctify the Lord God in your
hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason
for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience,
that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in
Christ may be ashamed.”
The majority of our time was spent in 1 Peter, and our lessons focused on:
- What our hope is in as Christians (1 Peter 1:3-5)
- Walking in a world that has rejected Christ
(1 Peter 2:1-5) - Doing the right thing even in the face of persecution (1 Peter 3: 8-
9) - Giving God the glory in both good times and bad (1 Peter 4:12-16)
Together, we were reminded that as Christians, our lives should look different, and that difference is often noticed by others. While this can create opportunities to share our faith, it can also bring challenges such as exclusion, isolation, or even persecution.
Growing Together in Faith
Even though the Christian walk is not always easy (Matthew 7:13–14), God never intended for us to walk it alone. Scripture reminds us to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2) and that “two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10). These verses capture the heartbeat of our group: to be a Christ-centered community that strengthens and uplifts one another as we grow in faith. That spirit was on full display at the retreat as the college & young professional group laughed, studied, prayed, and built bonds that will continue to bless us long after the weekend ended.
A Blessed Weekend at Camp Inagehi
From the beautiful weather to the moments of worship, to the healthy competition in games and activities, God blessed the college & young professional group with a great weekend. Our time together at Camp Inagehi not only renewed our spirits but also deepened the relationships we share in Christ. We left encouraged, refreshed, and reminded that we are never alone in our journey of faith. The CYP is more than just a group. It’s a family committed to walking together in Christ, wherever life may lead.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for
their labor.10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who
is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”
That’s what we’re building with the CYP, a group of young Christians who are here
for one another, who share an unshakable foundation of faith and are committed to
each other wherever life may lead them and growing together in their faith
